# Auction Rebalance Module

In 2023, Index Coop developed an [Auction Rebalance Module](https://etherscan.io/address/0x59d55d53a715b3b4581c52098bcb4075c2941dba#code) for Index Protocol, with the aim of overcoming some of the limitations and inefficiencies associated with DEX-only trading.\

The Auction Rebalance Module facilitates rebalances for [SetTokens](https://docs.indexcoop.com/index-coop-community-handbook/protocol/index-protocol/core-contracts/set-token) via single-asset auctions. Managers initiate rebalances specifying target allocations in precise units (scaled by 10^18), quote asset (e.g., WETH, USDC), auction parameters per component, and rebalance duration through startRebalance(). Bidders can participate via bid() for individual components.
